BACKGROUND:
The Cemetery Commission provides recommendations to Staff regarding budget, maintenance projects and special programs. Recently the Commission proposed a fee increase for lots only at the cemetery. The commission compared local cemeteries fees and is suggesting an increase to $1800.00; $1750 per lot and $50 for perpetual care. There are currently 450 lots left, 80 sales per year, there is an expectation that all lots will be sold within five years.
The Cemetery Commission would also like to ask council to remove from the ordinance
Sec. 22.013, curbing. Curbing is in the Rules and Regulations and removing it from the ordinance would give the commission the authority to grant variances to the curbing.
