Background Information:
This spring 2022, the Arts Commission began searching for permanent art to purchase and install in the San Marcos Sculpture Garden. Commissioners, including Chair Jamey Poole who works at an art gallery in Austin, researched pieces for sale and compiled a list of potential candidates for purchase. The Commission evaluated the pieces during their July and August regular meetings and made selections in August:
"Emergence" by Colin McIntyre;
"Feather Horn" by Colby Brinkman; and
"Holding" by Sarah Heath, and "Primeval" by Eliseo Garcia.
