Background Information:
The Hays County Commissioners Court is exploring the establishment of a Public Health Advisory Board composed of representatives from cities and school districts across the county. This board would serve as a formal mechanism to align the Health Department's priorities with the needs of local governments and school systems. The department's current focus areas include animal welfare services, behavioral health, indigent health, infectious disease, and public health emergency preparedness.

It is expected that this group will meet monthly in the evening. It is expected that members can expect to have about 5-10 hours of participation a month between preparing for meetings, participation, and external activities.
