Background Information:
City Council provided direction during Budget Policy to continue an incremental rate increase approach for all utilities instead of larger increases every few years. Council then provided direction during the August 20th meeting to implement a 1% rate increase for Resource Recovery. The rate adjustment will fund expenses for services that include contractual increases for trash, recycling, green waste and other programs, public outreach and education, and administration of resource recovery program.
