Background Information:
The City of San Marcos has a Drug and Alcohol policy in compliance with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and Drug Free Workplace Act. The policy applies employees who regularly drive vehicles, regularly work directly with children, whose positions include the use of a weapon (or other use of force), have access to controlled substance(s), have safety sensitive duties with public utilities and public safety. The City's policy mirrors the DOT standard for drug and alcohol testing and is administered by the Human Resources Department.
