Background Information:
During the 2023 legislative session, the legislature of the State of Texas passed House Bill 1922, which became effective on January 1, 2024. This bill requires the reauthorization of building permit fees and defines “building permit fee” to mean a fee charged by a municipality as a condition to constructing, renovating, or remodeling a structure.
