Background Information:
City Council provided direction through the annual Budget Policy meeting to continue an incremental rate increase approach for all utilities instead of larger increases every few years. Council then provided additional direction during the August 18, 2026, workshop to implement the recommended 1% rate increase for Resource Recovery. The rate adjustment will fund expenses for services that include increases for trash, recycling, green waste and other programs, public outreach and education, and administration of the resource recovery program.
