CITY COUNCIL GOAL:  Goal #7 Maintain Fiscal Responsibility

COMPREHENSIVE PLAN ELEMENT(s): Environmental and Resource Protection

BACKGROUND

Over the past several years City Council has adjusted the Drainage Utility rates due to the high demand for Drainage CIP project participation and the increased maintenance and mowing requirements of drainage areas along with the costs associated with the implementation of the MS4 program. A 10% rate adjustment for fiscal year 2017 is recommended along with steady annual increases in future years to properly support the future debt service for CIP projects and the required maintenance and programs expenses.

This rate adjustment will increase the residential rates for small lots by 52 cents, medium lots by 83 cents, and large lots by 95 cents per month.
