BACKGROUND:
The City of San Marcos entered in an agreement with Computer Information Systems (CIS), to provide a CAD/RMS and Mobile Data System (MDS) in March 2000 for the City's Police Department. CIS developed their application to be a multi-agency application.

Currently Hays County Sheriff's Office and the City's Police Department have separate CAD/RMS and MDS vendor and neither agency is able to share the information electronically. Each entity pays annual software support, hardware, and storage cost to various vendors.

The City of San Marcos and Hays County Sheriff's Office will be region partners by entering into an interlocal agreement to share Police Departments CAD and Mobile Data System data and costs to operate the system. The application will be configured to allow each entity to operate as separate entities, but the data will be shared in a 'View Only' format to the other entity. If there are acceptations, then those records will be prohibited for being viewed by the other entity.

City's responsibilities:
* The City will host the application, storage, servers, database, and backup and recovery of the system.

Hays County Sheriff Office's responsibilities:
