The Scheib Center has received a grant to start a Children's Respite Home in San Marcos. That will have total annual salaries of over $500,000.   This is only the second home of its kind with the first one, which is located in Fort Worth, being highly successful.  Scheib has purchase a home a 614 North Bishop which requires under the code to have an ADA ramp and parking space costing $10,200, a vent-a-hood costing $3,500 and a sprinkler system totaling  approximately $24,400.  The Scheib Center is asking for assistance in completing these improvements so that the center can officially open.  They are requesting half of the funds necessary to complete these improvements.  Staff is seeking direction to see if the City Council would like the City Manager to fund this project.  A memo requesting the funds and what the program is for has been attached.
