BACKGROUND

As part of the department’s goal of maintaining a team of officers who are fit and able to meet the physical demands of the job, the department purchased two Concept 2 Model D fitness rowers a few years ago.  The department is moving toward a program to monitor and encourage higher fitness levels among the incumbent officers.  The purchase of these machines will allow for higher levels of use by department personnel and will allow for the use of the machines for fitness testing.  Marathon Fitness of Stafford, TX submitted the lowest bid in a request for quotes process administered by the city’s purchasing department.
