BACKGROUND:
The City Council previously approved Consent Agreements for the creation of LaSalle Municipal Utility Districts Numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 (Ordinance No. 2013-18 and Ordinance No. 2014-13). These MUDs were subsequently created by the Texas Legislature.
In May, 2015, the applicant requested an extension of the deadline to hold a confirmation election within four (4) years rather than two (2) years from the date of creation by the Texas Legislature.
At this time the applicant is requesting an additional two (2) year extension to allow the confirmation election to be held within six (6) years from the date of creation by the Texas Legislature, which would be June 14, 2019.
Staff finds this amendment consistent with Chapter 70 of the City's Code of Ordinances and the state law authorizing the creation of the Municipal Utility Districts and recommends approval of the O...
