Consider approval of Ordinance 2024-53, on the second of two readings, creating a designated permit area under Section 82.189 of the San Marcos City Code authorizing parking by permit only from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. during weekends and public holidays for the area consisting of the both sides of the 200 and 300 block of Riverside Drive from Riviera Drive to Cheatham Street; amending the traffic register to reflect such designated permit area; including procedural provisions; and declaring an effective date.

Background Information:
During the summer, recreational visitors to the San Marcos River park along Riverside Drive, leading to inconvenience and safety concerns for neighborhood residents. In response, residents of the 200-300 block of Riverside Drive (between Riviera Drive and Cheatham Street) submitted a petition on July 26, 2024, to establish a residential permit parking (RPP) area.
