Background Information:
A resolution is required to adopt and support the Hays County Safety Action Plan, to position the City of San Marcos (City) to be eligible for federal and state safety funding programs, including those under the U.S. Department of Transportation's Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Program.
As per the comprehensive goals, the City is committed to improving transportation safety for all road users, including motorists, pedestrians, bicyclists, and freight operators.
