CITY COUNCIL GOAL: Big Picture Infrastructure
BACKGROUND:
Comanche Street is a major entrance to Texas State University with parking on both sides and a bike lane on the east side. With this configuration, the clear travel-way is only 21 feet. Fire apparatus and buses are 10.5 feet in width measured from mirror to mirror. Twenty-one feet is insufficient to provide sufficient clearance for two-way traffic. City staff recommends a No Parking restriction at all times on the west side of the street segment to provide sufficient clearance for two-way traffic.
The traffic engineer will amend the Traffic Register to reflect the change.
