BACKGROUND: 

 

On March 4, 2016, Council Member Scott Gregson submitted a request to the San Marcos Ethics Review Commission (ERC) for an advisory opinion regarding his eligibility to vote on matters pertaining to the implementation of the Downtown Master Plan.  Mr. Gregson retained attorney Doug Ray with the firm of Ray & Wood of Austin, Texas to represent him before the ERC regarding his request for the advisory opinion at the rate of $350 per hour for professional services plus expenses.  The attached resolution would authorize payment of the legal fees and expenses Council Member Gregson incurs as he pursues his request for an ethics advisory opinion.
