BACKGROUND:
On June 10, 2015, the City received one (1) bid for the Stagecoach Trail Widening Project (IFB 215-195). The design engineer, Bill Gabler, P.E., of Bowman Consulting, Inc., has reviewed the bids and recommends awarding the contract to the low bidder, Cox Commercial Construction, located in Austin, Texas, in the amount of $350,583.
Due to increased traffic during school hours, an additional lane is needed to prevent the hindrance of through traffic. This project's timing is crucial and it must commence as soon as possible to prevent any traffic delays due to construction during the 2015/2016 school year.
The project scope includes: the widening of Stagecoach Trail to add a dedicated right turn lane approximately 1350 feet in length; improved drainage; inclusion of a bio-retention pond; and new traffic striping and signage.
