BACKGROUND: 

At the January 19, 2016 City Council meeting, feedback was provided to Council indicating that it would enhance safety in the downtown are if TNC drivers would be allowed to use the taxi stand located on Hopkins Street while waiting for passengers who have pre-arranged a ride with them.  Direction from Council at that meeting was that this would be a favorable change to existing ordinance.  This item will amend section 82.170 (c) of the City’s Code of Ordinances to allow TNC drivers to use the taxi stand area to wait for pre-booked passengers only.
