BACKGROUND:
On June 4, 2015, one (1) was received for Residential Electric Meters (IFB 215-006). According to the terms and conditions of the bid, the City has the right to award a contract on the basis of best value to the City, as well as responsibility of the bidder and responsiveness of the bid.
The Electric Utilities Division reviewed the bid submitted and recommends awarding a contract to Texas Electric Cooperatives located in Georgetown, Texas, in the amount of $129.06 per meter for a total estimated annual amount of $258,120.
This is an annual contract for purchase of Residential Electric Meters in order to support a growing infrastructure in San Marcos.
This annual contract will be effective July 20, 2015, through July 19, 2016. The total amount of the contract is estimated at $258,120, but the estimated amount required for the remainder of FY2015 is $129,060. Purchases against this contract for FY2016 are contingent upon approval of the 2016 budget by City Council.
