Background Information:

In 2004, the Edwards Aquifer Authority (EAA) began developing remote meter technology to replace analog meters for agricultural permit holders on a voluntary basis. Since then, and as of 2022, the program has expanded to include municipal and industrial permit holders, reflecting continued advancements in remote metering technology.

By participating in the Automated Meter Reading Program and assisting well owners in meeting their groundwater reporting obligations, the City supports the EAA’s mission to Manage, Enhance, and Protect the Edwards Aquifer.
