Background Information:
The City of San Marcos was named a Bronze Bicycle Friendly Community in 2018 and received renewal in 2024. This presentation highlights the significance of the Bicycle Friendly Community designation and the 14-month collaborative process that informed the application. The League of American Bicyclists, a nonprofit organization, is the issuer of this recognition. Additionally, the League returned a scorecard to the City with recommendations for continued progress in the areas of Engineering, Education, Engagement, Evaluation, and Equity. This feedback is intended to motivate continued progress until renewal in 2028.
