Consider approval of Resolution 2016-172R, approving the award of a construction contract to the Brandt Companies, LLC for the Police Department HVAC System Upgrades Project in the amount of $62,038.00 through the Texas Comptroller of Accounts Texas Municipal Award Schedule (contract #TXMAS-10-03FAC070) and the General Services Administration (contract #GS-21F-0137W) contingent upon the contractor’s timely submission of sufficient bonds and insurance in accordance with the City’s construction contract documents for the project; authorizing the City Manager or his designee to execute all contract documents on behalf of the City; and declaring an effective date.

BACKGROUND:
The Texas Comptroller of Accounts (TCPA) has awarded contract # TXMAS-10-03FAC070 for “Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Services” from the Texas Municipal Award Schedule (TXMAS) and General Services Administration (GSA) #GS-21F-0137W) for “Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning” to The Brandt Companies, LLC located in Austin, Texas. This process is authorized by Texas Government Code Title 10, Subtitle D, Section 2155.504(b) and the Local Government Code Section 271.101.
The total cost of the project is $62,038. The project scope includes HVAC modifications and upgrades for the Police Department Building. This is to enhance the existing system to reduce evidence degradation.
