Background Information:
Building 10, located at 2061 Clovis Barker Road, currently serves as the headquarters for San Marcos-Hays County EMS, Inc. and has been utilized for the administration and operation of emergency medical services within the San Marcos community. The facility is fully functional and operational in its current configuration and includes the existing infrastructure necessary to support EMS administrative and operational functions.
As part of the transition to the City of San Marcos municipal EMS department, the City proposes to lease Building 10 for approximately 14 months which is the duration of the existing lease term with San Marcos-Hays County EMS. The facility will serve as the City of San Marcos EMS headquarters, allowing for continuity of EMS operations while avoiding the immediate need to identify, lease, renovate, or otherwise prepare an alternative facility.
Subleasing the existing lease provides for a seamless transition of the headquarters facility from San Marcos-Hays County EMS, Inc. to the City of San Marcos and supports operational readiness and continuity as the City assumes responsibility for EMS service delivery.
A copy of the current lease with San Marcos-Hays County EMS is attached for reference. The City’s proposed lease will be in substantially the same form.
