Water Master Plan
Background Information:
The purpose of this one-year extension to the City’s existing contract #223-028 is to continue providing water meters and registers to be removed and replaced by City personnel as needed. The water meters and registers will be used to keep up with the City’s ten-year change-out plan for existing connections, as well as the substantial growth in businesses and both single-family and multi-family connections requiring new meter installations. The anticipated contract amount needed for this one-year extension is $525,000. Continued price increases were considered when estimating this amount.
Pursuant to Local Government Code, Section 271.102, the City is authorized to participate in cooperative purchasing programs, which includes the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) purchasing cooperative. Therefore, staff recommends approval of this contract extension with Thirkettle Corporation, Selma, Texas in the amount of $525,000 through the H-GAC purchasing cooperative contract # WM09-20.
