Background Information:
The court requires at least one associate (back-up) judge to act when the presiding judge is ill, attending mandatory training or on vacation. Jeffrey D. The State Law regarding municipal court judges, Texas Government Code § 30.00006(d), requires that the term of office for municipal court judges be for a definite term of two or four years. Chapter 55 of the San Marcos City Code contains provisions governing the operation of the Municipal Court.
