Background Information:

Resolution 2014-59R incorporated the policy for reimbursement of council member expenses, while Section 2.024 of the San Marcos City Code established City Council compensation.  At a special meeting of the Finance and Audit committee in April, the committee determined that a combined document would better serve the City.  Over the next 3 months, this Ordinance was drafted and refined to delineate Council compensation and the policies by which City Council would be reimbursed for expenses incurred in the performance of official duties.

Council direction is needed to finalize the Ordinance.

Council Committee, Board/Commission Action:
The Finance and Audit committee met on July 6th and approved the form of the Ordinance for discussion and consideration at the next scheduled City Council meeting.
