Background Information:

This committee will help update the City’s impact fees, which assesses the amount development contribute to the costs of capital improvement projects or facility expansion attributable to a new or expanded growth.
Previously the Planning and Zoning Commission was used as the advisory committee to review and make a recommendation for City Council action.  Recent legislation passed no longer allows the Planning and Zoning Commission to serve as the advisory committee.

Currently the City assesses only Water and Wastewater Impact Fees and staff is in progress of updating these fees.
The advisory committee should be at least 5 members with at least 50% of the members representing the real estate, development, or building industries. Since the City serves water and wastewater customers outside the city limits there should be one member from the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the city.
