Background Information:
During the summer season, San Marcos River recreational users tend to park along Sturgeon Drive causing inconvenience and safety concerns to neighborhood residents. Residents on the westside of 600 Block Sturgeon Drive (from River Road to Clair Street) initiated a petition to install residential permit parking. On the west side of the 600 block of Sturgeon Drive, there are thirteen lots. However, seven lots are undeveloped. Of the six developed properties, four of residents support the petition and two have no response. The approval rate meets the minimum requirement of 60% per Section 82.189 of the San Marcos City Code.
