Background Information:

Section 8.02 of the City Charter requires City Council to hold a budget policy workshop no later than February 27th of each year. On February 23, 2023, City Council held a budget policy workshop for the Fiscal Year 2024 Budget. At the workshop, City Council received a presentation and provided direction on formulating the Fiscal Year 2024 Budget Policy Statement. The City Charter requires a public hearing be held and that City Council approve the budget policy statement by March 31st of each year. The budget policy statement will be used by the City Manager in preparation of the proposed Fiscal Year 2024 Budget.
