Wastewater Master Plan
Background Information:
The attached On-Call Services Agreement for $2,595,871.00 with Freese and Nichols, Inc. (FNI) will provide engineering planning, design, permitting, bid, and construction phase services for the City of San Marcos (City) related to potential upgrades required for the wastewater system.
The current wastewater system is nearing capacity and staff is evaluating various projects that will help extend the life of the system. This agreement will help explore various projects and will allow us to deliver viable solutions required to accommodate the increased projected flows.
The scope was prepared assuming the City will pursue a 2nd wastewater treatment plant on the southeast part of town; but can be revised in the future if the City decides to pursue alternative options. Regardless of which alternative the City pursues, improvements at the Cottonwood Creek Subdivision Lift Station (LS 24) are required due to capacity issues at this lift station and the City must evaluate the wastewater system to determine how to create additional capacity.
