Background Information:
Representatives from the City’s Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) have been in discussions with representatives from San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District (SMCISD) regarding facility usage. Both entities agree that it would be mutually beneficial to enter a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) allowing for both parties to work together to agree on waiving of certain facility rental fees throughout the year.
There will be a Joint Committee comprised of staff from PARD and SMCISD to meet and coordinate dates. Such rentals will include, but are not limited to: Summer Fun Camp (PARD), Spring Break Softball Tournament (SMCISD), Out-of-school teacher meetings or events (SMCISD), etc.
While the facility fees will be waived for the agreed-upon dates, each entity will still be responsible for payment of additional operating costs such as, but not limited to: lighting fees, custodial fees, supervisory fees, etc.
This Agreement shall be for an initial term of three of years from the date of approval.
Following the initial three-year term, the Parties may agree in writing to renew the MOU for a period of two additional years.
