Background Information:
During the regular City Council meeting held on May 4, 2021, Council discussed a suggestion made previously that a Council committee could be formed to allow for discussion and Council input related to COVID-19 recovery. At the conclusion of this discussion, a majority of the Council directed staff to bring an action item to them at the next available meeting related to the creation of this committee. Council defined the purpose of this proposed committee as “assist Staff with COVID recovery and response related to health outcomes.” This item will allow Council to act on this item and appoint up to three members to serve on the committee. Additionally, Council provided direction during the May 4, 2021 meeting that this committee should be limited in its duration and should serve for a period of 6 months from the date of the first meeting.
