Background Information:
In response to an increase in violent crimes in the downtown San Marcos area, the city has identified a need for increased monitoring of the downtown area.
The City reached out to 10 purchasing cooperative vendors to request quotes for this project. Knight Security was the only respondent. The City recommends award of this work to Knight Security Systems based on their expertise in implementing outdoor security systems.
The upfront installation expense for the system is approximately $73,015.10 and annual maintenance of the system is approximately $8,048.64 occurring annually for a total expenditure of $81,063.74 for the first year.
The City of San Marcos is authorized by the Local Government Code, Chapter 271, to participate in cooperative purchasing programs. The (“DIR”) Cooperative Purchasing has awarded contract # DIR-CPO-4494 for Knight Security Systems, LLC.
