Background Information:
Resolution 2022-163R in August 2022 approved an agreement in the estimated annual amount of $109,328.88 for an initial two-year term with the option to extend for three (3) additional one-year periods. The annual cost has increased due to new installations and system expansion for building renovations, moves, and increased security needs. The fiscal year 2025 cost is $162,664.56. The estimated fiscal year 2026 cost is budgeted for $185,850 with an estimation for fiscal year 2027 at $210,000.
Enterprise Security System (access control & security cameras):
The purpose of access control is to secure resources and systems by ensuring that only authorized individuals can access them, preventing unauthorized access and data breaches.
Facility security cameras serve to enhance safety and security by deterring crime, documenting events, providing evidence for investigations, and monitoring operations, ultimately protecting people, assets, and operations.
At this time, the Information Technology Department is requesting approval of the increased annual amounts for the remaining terms of this contract for Enterprise Security System maintenance.
This contract (#222-165) was initially solicited through the Request for Proposals process and subsequently awarded to Knight Security Systems, LLC. The company has since been acquired by Mobile Communications America, Inc. (MCA). The services provided through this contract with MCA are also compliant through DIR contract #DIR-CPO-4494.
