Background Information:

This item is for the approval of design engineering services with Cobb, Fendley & Associates for CIP project #C415 - Reconstruction of Downtown Alleys (contract 219-373).

The “Reconstruction of Downtown Alleys” is a multi-year phased CIP for the reconstruction of downtown alleys, including drainage improvements and utility replacements as necessary.   This first project will focus on the reconstruction of the alley between LBJ and Guadalupe from Hopkins to University (approximately 900 ft.). The preliminary design evaluated concepts Identified in the 2018 Main Street Advisory Board/Burditt planning grant for the redevelopment of Kissing Alley.  The use of permeable pavers as part of drainage improvements was also evaluated.  Based upon the results of the Preliminary Engineering Report, a Change in Service is required to prepare construction plans for the Kissing Alley.
