Background Information:

This item is to award a construction contract for $3,218,046.00 to Payton Construction Inc, in conjunction with the Comanche Pump Station Improvements Project.

 

The work is to upgrade and increase capacity of four potable water system pumps at the pump station. Additionally, the work will include upgrades and replacements to electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and weatherization components.

 

This project originated from the Water Master Plan. Larger capacity pumps are needed to increase supply to the La Cima development as demand increases over the next several years. The upgrades will also serve to improve and extend the overall life of the pump station which was originally built in the 1970s. 

 

On May 16, 2024, one bid was received for the Comanche Pump Station Improvements Project IFB #224-007. Award is recommended to the single responsible responsive bidder, Payton Construction Inc, from Wimberley, Texas in the amount of $3,218,046.00. Construction is anticipated to last 18 months, weather permitting.
