Recommendation:
The Information Technology Department requests approval of this item. As a member, ARSOC will allow the city no-cost access to training and resources in a state-of-the-art cyber-security operation center. ARSOC members include Federal and State agencies as well as the University of Texas at San Antonio, which has a premier cyber-security degree program. City staff will be allowed to participate in cyber-security training, tabletop exercises, cyber-security assessments, and participate in daily activities while performing hands-on training. Having access to a resource of this magnitude, will assist in the development of the city’s own cybersecurity program.
