Background Information:

The approximate 176.5 acres is located north of State Highway 21, east of the railroad, south of the Blanco River, and west of an established subdivision. The site is located within the Low Intensity and Open Space preferred scenario types in the 2013 Comprehensive Plan. This land is city-owned and intended for future master planning as a public park. It contains the grounds of the former Quail Creek Country Club with various amenities including a golf course. Zoning is not proposed with this annexation; Future Development “FD” is the default zoning district for any annexed property unless zoned otherwise. Issues of trespassing by the public necessitate annexation to allow proper securing of the site.

The City of San Marcos is the water and wastewater provider, and Pedernales co-operative will provide electric service.
