Background Information:
On April 30, 2026, the City of San Marcos received nine (9) proposals in response to the competitive sealed proposal (CSP) solicitation, #2025-102 for Fire Station #3 renovation which was issued in compliance with Texas Government Code, Chapter 2269. Following an evaluation process, the City has determined the low bidder, Greystone Construction, located in Georgetown, Texas, to be the most qualified and best value to complete the work. The estimated contract amount is $5,635,343.00. Fire Station 3 is located at 2420 Hunter Rd.
The contractor will remodel and expand Fire Station #3 with the addition of an apparatus bay, workout/fitness room, ventilated bunker gear storage area, and additional outside storage, all new driveways, apparatus approaches, and concrete flatwork, as well as completing an extensive interior renovation.
The project will begin as soon as possible, dependent on contractors’ ability to mobilize, and take approximately 10-12 months to complete. While construction is ongoing, Truck 3 and its assigned personnel will live and operate out of Fire Station 4, located at 1404 Wonder World Dr., and Blocker 4, and its assigned personnel will live and operate out of Fire Station 5, located at 100 Carlson Circle.
