Vision San Marcos - A River Runs Through Us
Background Information:
The approx. 51-acre site has frontage on Rattler Rd, McCarty Lane, and Old Bastrop with the City’s Public Services Complex to the north, and the San Marcos High School to the south of the property. This annexation request is accompanied by two separate zoning change requests for approximately 37 acres of Character District-4 zoning (ZC-24-06) and approximately 10 acres of Commercial zoning (ZC-24-07) along McCarty Lane. There have been several recent annexations in the vicinity of this property. The site is located within the “East Village” in the 2013 Comprehensive Plan, which is an area envisaged as an “activity node centered around the intersection of Old Bastrop and Hwy 123, East Village will boast a mix of commercial, retail, and service-oriented activity. This area will offer a variety of residential options including single family homes, duplexes, townhomes, and small multifamily projects”.
