Background Information:
In 1961 and 1970, the City of San Marcos acquired title to the property known as Lot 3, Block 4 D. S. Combs Addition to the City of San Marcos, Hays County, Texas, as per the map or plat thereof of record in Volume 42, Page 232, of the Plat Records of Hays County, Texas, as conveyed to the City of San Marcos by deeds recorded in Volume 186, Page 544, Volume 235, Page 185 and corrected in Volume 868, Page 705 of the Official Real Property Records of Hays County, Texas. Between then and September 2023, the property was occupied by the Community Health Services Clinic. Upon the vacation of the property, City council directed staff to negotiate the donation of the property to Austin Habitat for Humanity for the purposes of developing low to moderate income housing. Through our negotiations, Austin Habitat for Humanity plans to develop one duplex on the site for the goals directed by City Council.
