Background Information:
Thirteen (13) bids were received on May 18th, 2023 for the Blanco Vista Waterline project IFB #223-133. The City has reviewed the bids and the Design Engineer, Alan Plummer, recommends awarding the contract to the low bidder, EVT Construction located out of Austin, Texas in the amount of $511,505.06.
Based on the recommendations of the COSM Water Masterplan and coordination between Alliance Regional Water Authority (ARWA), this project proposes to install a 24-inch water line along the North end of the Blanco Vista Subdivision, connecting the future proposed Blanco Vista Elevated Storage Tank (EST) into the City’s distribution system along Blanco Vista Boulevard. The construction of the Blanco Vista EST will follow this project. Once both projects are completed, the City will establish the ARWA’s second delivery point, with the first being located at the surface water treatment plant.
The waterline was separated out from the EST project through an Interlocal Agreement approved by Resolution 2022-25R approved January 18th, 2022, which specifies the funding participation between the City and ARWA for improvements required to our system. ARWA will treat and deliver water to both SWTP and the proposed Blanco Vista EST.
