Background Information:

On October 15, 2024 City Council approved Vision SMTX, the City’s Comprehensive Plan. This action immediately created conflicts in terminology within the Development Code.

 

Approval of this item authorizes staff to begin the code amendment process to update terminology in the Development Code to align with the Comprehensive Plan.

 

Prior to any action on this item, public notice will be published in the San Marcos Daily Record and send an online notice to anyone signed up to receive application notices from the Department. The code amendment process will be as follows (dates TBD):

-                     Planning and Zoning Commission Public Hearing and Recommendation

-                     City Council Public Hearing

-                     City Council Action on 2nd Reading of Ordinance
