Background Information:
Rate modeling for Resource Recovery shows a rate adjustment is needed for single and multifamily customers. The rate adjustments will fund expenses for services that include contractual increases for trash, recycling, green waste and other programs, public outreach and education, and administration of resource recovery programs.
Monthly rates for single and multifamily services are proposed to increase 3%. For single family customers with a 65-gallon cart, the monthly increase is $0.86, from $28.80 to $29.66. The monthly rate for single family customers with a 96-gallon will also increase $0.86, from $33.80 to $34.66. For multifamily customers the monthly increase is $0.26, from $8.79 to $9.05. The monthly rate for extra carts will increase by $0.22, bringing the total monthly rate to $7.49 for each additional 96-gallon recycling and green waste cart and $10.49 for each additional 96-gallon trash cart.
