Background Information:
This request is to extend the Agreement 218-175 with Bickerstaff Heath Delgado Acosta, LLP, for an additional one (1) year from October 12, 2024, through October 11, 2025, for State Legislative Consulting Services in the amount of $30,000 and authorizing two (2) additional (1) year anticipated renewals to be awarded administratively in the form of an Authorization of Change in Service.
The contract is for providing comprehensive State of Texas legislative consulting services.
The contract benefits the City and the community in this way: This contract benefits the City of San Marcos and its residents by ensuring the City has dedicated legislative support at the state level. The consulting firm will advocate for policies that align with the City’s priorities, help secure state funding for critical projects, and provide strategic advice on legislative matters.
Bickerstaff Heath Delgado Acosta, LLP, was selected as the most qualified firm through a Request for Qualifications solicitation in late 2018.

Not extend the current contract, creating a lapse in services, to allow for development and issuance of a new Request for Qualifications solicitation to be issued mid-summer 2025 to have a new contract in place in fall/winter 2025.
