Background Information:

The Professional Services Agreement (Contract ID# 221-105.3) with BGE, Inc., in the not to exceed amount of $500,000.00 to provide professional design and engineering support for the North Side 12-inch Water Connection project approved in the Capital Improvements Program. The on-call contract will allow the City to efficiently issue task orders for engineering design, plan review, and technical support services as project needs arise.

BGE, Inc., has worked on previous projects in the City of San Marcos and was selected from the Qualified Engineering Services solicitation RFQ#221-105.

The North Side 12-inch Water Connection project has been identified as the project that will use this agreement with BGE, Inc.  The scope of work consists of design, bid, and construction phases services for extending approximately 7,000 feet of 12-inch water main from the proposed  Whisper Development to a connection with the existing 12-inch water main at the State Highway 21 at William Pettus Intersection.

The waterline is intended to be installed with the new William Pettus Road Extension, which is an effort that is being led by Hays County. Since the County is leading the road extension efforts; the construction timeframe will also be dependent upon the County acquiring construction funding.  At this time, the water line is not expected to start construction for at least 2 years.  A better timeline will be determined once Hay County acquires construction funding.
