Background Information:
The reimbursement agreement in the amount of $300,000.00 with Union Pacific Railroad Company (UPRR), will allow for engineering review of the Purgatory Creek Improvements Project by UPRR (or a third-party consultant on UPRR’s behalf).
60% engineering design is currently underway for the Purgatory Creek Improvements Project and several points of conflict have been identified with UPRR right-of-way. The proposed improvements have been formally submitted to UPRR via a Public Projects Inquiry.
The proposed agreement and subsequent engineering review is a necessary step in obtaining permissions for construction within the UPRR right-of-way.
The preliminary construction estimate for the Purgatory Creek Improvements Phase 1 Project is approximately $40,000,000. The construction start date is pending award of grant funding.
