Background Information:
On July 30, 2026, the City received eight (8) bids in response to Invitation for Bid (IFB) 2026-053. PURIS Services, LLC, was the lowest responsive bid received. After thorough review of the bid received, the design engineer recommends award of a construction contract #2026-053 to PURIS Services, LLC, for Main Lift Station Repairs.
Authorization of this construction contract with PURIS Services, LLC, in the amount of $647,300.80, is requested for the Main Lift Station Repairs (C472) to replace corroded discharge piping in the lift station to regain operational capacity at this critical wastewater facility.
The scope of work for this project consists of repairs and improvements to the existing Main Lift Station. Major work elements include replacement of existing discharge piping within the wet well, improvements to the bypass pumping connection piping with installation of new valves, and implementation of temporary construction bypass pumping to maintain continuous operation of the lift station during construction. The project also includes supplemental bid items for concrete coating repairs to be performed, if authorized.
The heavily corroded discharge piping is impacting pumping capacity for the largest wastewater lift station that collects wastewater from the collection system and delivers it to the River Road Water Reclamation Facility for treatment. The continuous operation of this facility is critical to the collection and treatment system of wastewater, so bypass pumping is a key component of this project. Work shall include by-pass pumping, removal of existing 12-inch diameter ductile iron discharge piping, the installation of new 12-inch diameter stainless steel discharge piping, including all required fittings, valves, supports, appurtenances, connections to existing piping and equipment, testing, commissioning of the new piping systems, and restoration of all disturbed areas.
Construction will cost $647,300.80 and notice-to-proceed will be granted in November 2026.
