Background Information:
At prior City Council meetings, staff was provided direction to update standards related to residential garage requirements and the use of self-storage. During staff’s analysis of these topics, additional areas of the Development Code were identified as needing amendments. The full scope of amendments that are recommended by staff at this time are as follows:
• City Engineering staff recommendations
• Residential garage / access standards
• Use of self storage and outdoor storage
• Allowable uses in CD-2.5 and ND-3.2
• Typographical errors
A redline is included in the packet indicating draft language for these topics. Due to the addition of proposed amendments beyond those discussed by City Council, staff is requesting Initial Authorization in order to consider all of the proposed amendments.
