Background Information:
The purpose of this contract is to make repairs to several HVAC roof top units at the Activity Center that were damaged during the May 9, 2024 hailstorm.
The cost of these repairs will be covered by the City’s facility insurance coverage through the Texas Municipal League.
Work to be performed:
- Eight (8) units requiring coil replacement, per unit cost is $13,450.00
- Five (5) units requiring HVAC fin repair, per unit is $1,877.80
The total cost for all repairs is $116,989.00. The work comes with a one (1) year part and labor warranty. The cost of these repairs will be covered by the City’s facility insurance coverage through the Texas Municipal League.
Benefits of repairs include:
- Improves the efficiency of the HVAC units providing additional comfort to visitors of Activity Center
- Reduces costs through energy efficiency
- Increases the “useful life” of the HVAC roof top units
- Reduces unexpected HVAC failures/downtime
The Local Government Code, Chapter 271, authorizes municipalities to participate in purchasing cooperative programs such as the BuyBoard purchasing cooperative. BuyBoard has awarded contract 733-24 for Trade Services to Airco Mechanical Ltd.
